Music is central to our life at St Andrew’s and St George’s West. It enriches our worship, and enhances the life of our community and city. There are many aspects of our music-making.
Director of Music vacancy
We seek an experienced and enthusiastic Director of Music to enhance the musical life of our congregation.
You will need to be familiar with a range of traditional, contemporary and other musical styles; possess excellent organ and piano skills; have experience of directing a choir and of working with others in the planning and delivery of music. Pre-COVID, music played a large part in our outreach to others in our community; we are keen to appoint someone who will be creative about reviving and developing this aspect of our church life.
Our organ is a two manual Wells Kennedy, installed in 1984, refurbished and enhanced in 2014 and regularly maintained. Our piano is a 2006 Yamaha SB6, regularly maintained and in very fine condition.
Remuneration in line with Church of Scotland Guidelines(Scale C), negotiable according to qualifications and experience.
