Come and find stillness and space for reflection at Taizé Time, a gathering of sung, spoken and silent prayer.
Tonight’s Taize Time has a special focus for Holy Week and runs at the later time of 7-8pm. All welcome!
Taizé is sung prayer that originated in the monastic community of Taizé, France. Taizé worship uses song, spoken word and silence to create a peaceful and restorative experience for mind, body and spirit. The songs are short and simple, allowing us to repeat them often enough so they move from head to heart and become prayer.
In our noisy world, the opportunity to be in silence with others silence is rare – yet there are gifts to be discovered through silence. In the words of Pico Iyer, “In silence, we often say, we can hear ourselves think; but what is truer to say is that in silence we can hear ourselves not think, and so sink below ourselves into a place far deeper than mere thought allows. In silence, we might better say, we can hear someone else think.”
So, whether Taizé worship is new or familiar to you, wherever you are on your journey, know that a warm welcome awaits you at Taizé Time.
