Drop into St Andrew’s and St George’s West and to knit – or crochet – for a bit.
We’ll be here from 10am-4pm on Wednesday 20 June.
The event is part of Edinburgh Direct Aid’s Great Sponsored Knit to raise funds for their work with refugees in Syria.
We’ll be knitting what refugees need to survive a cold winter – hats, scarves, blankets, children’s clothes – as well as toys.
We’ll have a supply of yarn and needles and patterns, but you can bring your own if you prefer.
There will be communal projects that you can simply add a few rows of knitting to, or you can aim to make a complete item yourself
• come when you can
• bring your friends
• stay as long as you like
• materials provided, or bring your own if you prefer
Everything made at Knit for a Bit will be donated to Edinburgh Direct Aid, along with any donations of money from those taking part, and from anyone who would like to support us.
Knit for Bit is organised by Creative TOGETHER, a group of crafters from city centre churches St Andrew’s and St George’s West, St Cuthbert’s and St John’s. We knit, sew, crochet, paint and organise events to raise funds for good causes in Edinburgh and beyond.
