November 19, 2019 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Listen again to the lecture here
JJ Chalmers has an inspiring story to tell us.
A Royal Marine, he woke with life changing injuries after being injured by a bomb blast in Afghanistan, won a gold medal for cycling in the Invictus Games and has now established himself as a broadcaster and sports commentator. His recent work has included live coverage of the Commonwealth Games from Brisbane, commentary on the London Marathon for the BBC, co-hosting the Soldiering on Awards with Carol Vorderman and visiting the Ukraine to work with the Halo Trust, helping their efforts to clear land mines.
Last year he starred in the BBC TV series Pilgrimage: The Road to Santiago and talked about his life and faith. In an episode of My Faith and Me, also on the BBC, he recounted the injuries that had changed his life and described how his faith and the support of his loved ones helped him to recover.
JJ reflects on his journey so far in the 2019 Donald Gorrie Lecture.
